We are delighted to announce that Pastor Julio Cesar from Colombia will be at a special Mission Possible event we are organising at Ballymena North Recreation Centre, 120 Cushendall Rd, Ballymena BT43 6HB on Friday 5th August 2016 starting at 7.30pm.
This is a great opportunity to come to Ballymena to hear from Pastor Julio, how with the support of Mission Possible, he is rescuing many street children in Bogota, Colombia from a life of fear and abuse. We have now been fundraising for over 10 years to help alleviate suffering and abuse for many young children in Colombia’s capital city.
Joe & Sadie say, “Here is a little bit about Pastor Julio’s background – Colombian Pastor Julio Cesar and his wife Blanca head up the Mission Possible project in the Juan Rey district of Bogota – an area of much poverty and evil where little children are subject to a life of hunger, crime, abuse, despair and rejection.
Julio gave up his secular job in a prosperous business in the North of Bogota to train as a Pastor and minister in this poverty stricken district. His wife Blanca had previously been a teacher. They gave all this up in order to show and tell others of the love of God. They work tirelessly from 4.00am every morning to reach out to many distressed children and their families in this area. They are coming here to tell and show us how their work – funded by the generosity of people in N. Ireland through Mission Possible – is impacting on the lives of innocent little children. Please give them a warm Ballymena welcome”
Thanks to everyone who has donated time, money, goods and more so far, this has has allowed us to be in a position to currently fund 3 projects in the city. Here’s a very brief summary of those three projects –
Hope House 1 – a residential home for boys. It provides food, education and the love and care of a Christian environment – a place where the boys who live there can have a fresh start in life. Several have come to faith in Christ!
Juan Rey Centre – a multi-functional building which is currently used as a feeding station for up to 85 children each day. Children who attend are also taught about God’s love and some have already given their lives to Him. Mission Possible have recently funded the construction of a new Cultural Centre in the Juan Rey district. Here we hope to provide up to 300 children with a meal every day. It will also be used as a Church at weekends – a first for this area as it will be the first evangelical church in Juan Rey – a district where over 800,000 people live!
Hope House 2 – has only recently opened in April 2016. Hope House 2, just like Hope House 1 for boys, offers a safe haven for young girls who would otherwise live their lives on the streets. A home for them where they will receive much needed love, care, food, shelter and education as well as being told about Jesus and His love for them.
Our special Mission Possible event at Ballymena North will be presented by Joe & Sadie, music is by James Strange and chairman for the evening is Pastor Drew Hamill. There will be light refreshments provided.
You are invited to come and hear Pastor Julio Cesar from Colombia at our special Mission Possible event at Ballymena North Recreation Centre on Friday 5th August at 7.30pm.
