Alastair Sampson, from Castledawson, had a special birthday earlier this year.
His wife Lorraine decided to organise a “surprise” birthday party for him in a local hotel, but instead of friends and family bringing gifts for Alastair, they were invited to make donations in lieu of gifts to Mission Possible, a charity that Alastair holds very dear to his heart.
The total funds raised from Alastair’s birthday came to the staggering sum of £2,300 and a cheque for this amount was presented to Joe and Sadie in the presence of Pastor Julio and his wife Blanca who oversee some of the projects in Bogota, and who visited N. Ireland in August. 100% of this money will be used to fund the Street Children projects.
Children like these will benefit from this funding.
When asked why they wanted to support the work of Mission Possible in this way, Alastair and Lorraine replied:
“Having attended presentations given by Joe and Sadie Law concerning the work of Mission Possible, we can see the evidence of how children’s lives have been changed due to the love and care that have been provided in the various facilities in Bogota. In N. Ireland, we are so richly blessed and lack for nothing, therefore we felt the need to help others less fortunate than ourselves. Mission Possible was our obvious choice. May God continue to bless this ministry.”
We wish to thank Alastair and Lorraine for their kindness and generosity in ultimately helping the little children that we support.
Is this something that you could consider? Are you having a birthday soon and would like to help children in Colombia who are facing many, many difficulties such as hunger and abuse. What about sending a gift in lieu of the expense of sending Christmas cards? Rest assured that ALL of your donation will go straight to the children and it will be greatly appreciated. Please contact Joe or Sadie on 07709 156112 for more information or make a donation using our on-line give.net facility here.
